LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — I had an opportunity to observe an 8-year historical record of commentary on Obama’s presidency and another featuring running commentary on sites devoted to an activity/profession that is quite often beyond the reach of anyone that isn’t a (usually older) white male. (This profession requires a degree of intelligence and is dominated by white males for no other reason than historical backwards thinking. People of color and women are needlessly still struggling today to make inroads.)
It was what you’d expect from such groups — here’s an example: “We have a fraud/ Muslim in the White House aided by his press (propaganda) pushing his way into position of that of a dictator. Sooner or later it will effect our [activity] . . .”
Eight years later, the patently false statements now stick out like a poke-in-the-eye. “Guaranteed” doomsday predictions never materialized. In fact, almost the opposite of what was discussed ended up being true. By literally not visiting the sites, a conservative likely would be a bit more informative on facts related to their own causes.
My summary: Did anyone learned anything? No, self-delusion prevailed. Any rational thinkers long departed as politics seeped into many areas supposedly off limits to politics. The status quo remained after 8 years.
Indeed with this particular group, a new discussion has started on current presidential politics, with the same people, some with newly created different usernames (I confirmed this with website owner), and we are seeing history repeating itself in real time — all the while keeping away many non-conservatives, people of color, and women — folks who would otherwise energize something that ought to be accessible to everyone.
It is my hope that women and people of color (and trans people, of course!) don’t be disillusioned by these bigots and find or create their own circle of friends and colleagues to enjoyably participate in activities you find dear to your heart!

Sometimes the self-deluded get whacked with karma set in motion by a fellow self-deluded:
This particular individual, “Bill,” a seemingly respected businessman in the sport, disparaged the “liberal media” on social media for years until the “liberal media” supposedly and “finally” published a piece that he liked, then he raved about it, giving it literally, the Mother of All Praises online. As it turned out, Bill actually committed the Mother of All Blunders, when the piece was later revealed to be a hoax pulled off by another self-deluded individual.

According to Snopes, this article never appeared in Newsweek, nor is the writer a “columnist” for the magazine. The article was actually published in a right-wing rag 5 years ago. Newsweek, of course, is still in business. It is one thing to fall for a hoax, but it is another thing to believe your own lies and go to town with it.
At last check, Bill hasn’t owned up to the blunder after one person pointed it out to him several times. To him, perhaps, Snopes may be part of the “liberal media” he speaks of.

Snopes has lied to many times and as to Obama if you have a faith at all you better pray the ass dos not bring down on your heads a conflagration this country has not seen for 150 years the clock is ticking and we’ll see what happens from now till Nov. 6th.
Do you have a farm? I’d like to bet “the ass dos not bring down on your heads a conflagration” does not happen before election day.
Obama is not a saint, and if one were to vote totally one’s conscience I think it would be rational not to vote at all. That said, relative to the president’s we have had over the last 50 years, I think I would rate him the highest in the post WWII era.
You probably just don’t like Snopes because someone linked a page pricing one of your Facebook posts wrong one time.
The attacks on Obama will still go on long after he has left office, noting that all are unfounded and most likely uttered by racially bigoted people. The one thing I’ve learned is that once the government stopped prosecuting racial bullshit and lies that were being uttered on the airwaves, the stuff grew exponentially worse. The fact that racial bigotry was never abolished but just hidden below the water line. The broadcast and cable network’s fear of public reprisal for allowing this stuff proliferate under the guise of free speech were removed. So was the fear of public letter writing objections and law suits to them. I’m surprised that networks bothered to respond to anti-trans and anti-gay bashing being broadcast on their network (great news for us). I hope that the public will sooner or later learn the error of their ways regarding racial discrimination but that still remains to be a “dream”.
I thought I’d mention that a female member of one of these such groups was kicked out for marrying a foreign national. They said she had become a threat to “America’s security”.

His district attorney found out the policeman acted correctly. The black judge in the case found the policeman acted correctly. The all-black jury found the officer acted correctly. By our president keeps on mentioning Ferguson lie trying to spread more hate. all the witnesses for the placement were black When this is probably the least racist country on the planet. President Obama has been the worst thing for race relations in this country modern history.. Also the economy worse recovery in our history from a recession. Our military in disarray. The Russian president has made Obama look ridiculous. How’s Obama’s and Hillary’s reset button doing. Same thing at Pacific Chinese threatening our allies.
