LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — In what one report described as unprecedented, the Oregon Department of Education this week released liberal trans protection guidelines for educators of transgender students in the state.
From the Oregon Dept. of Ed. trans student guidelines document:
“There is no need for the student to prove their new gender. The student’s declaration of their gender is acceptable. . . . A student who says she is a girl and wishes to be regarded that way throughout the school day should be respected and treated like any other girl. So too with a student who says he is a boy.”
The 15-page document allows trans students to use bathrooms, locker rooms and play on sport teams of their gender identity. In addition to students having a choice for names and pronouns, schools are suggested to use the student’s preferred names on grade books, attendance sheets, name tags, transcripts and diplomas — even if legal name differs. The students are allowed name changes without proof of intending to transition.
Upon graduation, schools are to issue two transcripts and diplomas — one with the chosen name, the other with their legal name.
Not only is Oregon in compliance with federal law, it is, in fact, miles ahead of most other states in the trans student protection department.

The school guidelines do not differentiate between abtransgender child and a cud child.

Liberal? I would say just!, fair!, progressive!. The nation, the Christian right should take note of this. This is what real Christian values lookk and feel like.
Yes, but then the ‘christian right wing’ doesn’t consider freedom, human rights and being liberal as a value. That, to ‘them’, isn’t being a good christian. So the shit will go on until the preachers, who wail aganst the LGBTQ people and some even against ethnic minorities, confess their bigotry and repent.
My dog in this fight would take a drastic hit with this decision. And I’m not sure it’s one you’ve even considered. About the confused 13 and 12 year old son & daughter of a transgender woman. Who are not being discouraged from taking stepdads name. Before this ruling that couldn’t happen without a court order. Now all they have to do is get it from the principal? you see victory. I see that SON/daughter having the right to walk into his principals office and change HIS/hers name and walk out. This gives them the right to walk in and change MY name. Oops I mean their name. I don’t see much victory in that not for me anyway.
