The station’s format niche: ’90s centered alternative rock — mostly unchanged since, well, the ’90s!

(This is a housekeeping post so I can add tags and stuff to help Google index this page and ease the transition of listeners to my new site. 🙂 )

Live365 was forced to cease operations as of Jan 31st 2016 due to increases in royalty rates. The new rates nearly triple the operating cost for independent broadcasters, sinking Live365’s business model. The majority of Live365 broadcasters are likely to keep their stations silent. Anybody that continues to broadcast will need to stream elsewhere independently and pay the new royalties themselves out of their own pockets, in advance.

There is faint hope for relief down the line for indie broadcasters when the royalties board reviews their decision. We’ll see.

As for my other station, the new age/ambient The Crystal Ballroom, Its gone silent after 14 years while I explore new avenues for it. Hopefully it will return to the air in the future. Further info on that station will be kept updated on the same website: www.netradiolink.com
