Original article: In San Francisco, trans woman Taja DeJesus was stabbed to death on Feb 1. Police found her on the steps in front of a building in the Bayview district. EMTs pronounced her dead at the scene. A suspect fled the scene prior to the police arriving according to witnesses.
Postings on social media brought to attention the fact she was a trans woman.
In Ecuador, trans woman Marisol Almeida was found dead in her place of business on Dec. 24, 2014 according to a report in Planet Transgender. She was apparently stabbed in the neck and her body was found wrapped in sheets.
