Original article: A trans-hate monger fired by a trans-hate group for, well . . , hate mongering? Strangely enough, yes. And it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person. The American Family Association, a Southern Poverty Law Center-certified hate group, fired their spokesman and Issues Director Bryan Fischer.
Frankly, I don’t even care to know the full detailing behind the firing, however I admit to being a bit pleased to knowing that Fischer’s comeuppance came from his own peers.
While he apparently keeps his radio job for the time being, I doubt he retains the influence he once had. Even if he goes solo, he likely won’t draw the bucks needed to regain his previous stature.
Here are a few choice transphobic quotes from Fischer as we say good riddance:
“Who are the people operating in the realm of science? Well, it’s us because we know you’re either male or female by DNA assigned to them at the moment of conception by a creator God who doesn’t make those kind of mistakes.”
(Referring to a 16-year-old trans high school queen) “He has a mental illness, he thinks he’s a girl and they elected him homecoming queen and the school officials allowed this charade to go on. That violates everything we know about gender, about sex, about genetics, about biology, about human health, about what mental health is, it violates every known standard of decency and normality in America.”

The next person due for in-house comeuppance is Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council — another SPLC-certified hate group.

I find nothing illegal or wrong about hating. I do not care about someone’s hate I care about what they what they do about it. I don’t believe in the thought police. I am very very proud of my hate I hate child molesters. I hate rapists. I hate those who hurt my sisters. You may hate me, but you can’t physically harm-me . I do not believe in hate laws at all. Their thought police laws . You may think what you wish but your actions that the state has rights stop and make it illegal when you harm others, not what you think. PS I find it ridiculous and just wrong. If someone gets a lesser punishment when they hurt me, but don’t say they hate me than someone who says they hate me and hurts me. It there hurt physical attack that accounts not their thoughts.
Here’s a spin on Fischer’s firing — They say the stripping of Fischer’s titles is meaningless since he still has his hand on the radio mike. I say the very public stripping of titles is an indication of the org’s internal strife.

After so long in this life I still don’t understand the intense dislike some have for us. Even those who are polite often harbour private thoughts that are less so. Not everything you don’t understand Is bad or a problem. The olderq I get the more I reflect on this. So many feel forced into private lives with no choice but isolation. I suppose we are not normal but why the hate for that? Who knows, maybe he was fired for reasons having nothing to do with his bigotry. The next guy might be worse.
True, the next guy (and you know it’s going to be a guy) could be worse for us. But I doubt it. Fischer was a foaming-at-the-mouth bigot. And by reading between the lines, the AFA, even though a hate group, appears tired of the nasty media attention Fischer was bringing to the group. A less provocative person likely will ignite fewer supporters to go on a hate rampage against trans people.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Fisher’s bigotry was only exceeded by his ignorance.
It would be nice if this were really true. I doubt it is because this kind of thinking permeates these groups top to bottom. These groups care nothing about facts and evidence and do not even care about public opinion. Fischer fits too well with them.
