LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — The duo, Kimberly Ray and Barry Beck, commonly known by their on-air moniker Kimberly and Beck, fired earlier this year from Rochester, NY radio station WBZA after mocking trans people on the air, have shown up on another local station, Radio 95.1.
The duo’s hateful rant and on-air mocking was triggered by the mayor’s plan to provide health care coverage to transgender city employees. Following an outrage from the trans community WBZA, suspended, then fired them.
Ray on air back in May: “The services that will be paid for under the new [transgender health care] coverage: gender reassignment surgery, psychological counseling, because you’re probably a nut job to begin with.”
Ray now (via twitter) “It was nice to have the summer off. We took some time to reflect and kind of figure out what went sideways.”

It was nice to have the summer off, Kimberly? I’ll tell you what went ‘sideways” — you opened your mouth to load up your pocketbook by unleashing a hateful rant. It doesn’t get more clear than this. You might have triggered a few suicides along the way. Congrats on this dubious honor.
Probably the biggest loser in all this is WBZA, the station that canned them, only to see these two end up at the competition. The station initally did the right thing only to get shafted in the end.
