LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — An decision by Oklahoma County District Judge Bill Graves denying a second transgender person a name change was also overturned by a Oklahoma appeals court.
The appeals court anonymously granted Angela Renee Ingram her request. A year and a half ago the same appeals court overturned Judge Graves’ decision in a separate case to deny trans woman Christie Ann Harvey a name change.
Judge Graves gained notoriety for quoting the Bible in denying trans people name changes and for his “expertise” on DNA: “If you’re born male, you stay male, according to the study I’ve done on DNA. If you’re born female, you stay female.”
Graves says he is going to abide by the appeals court’s decision.

This is the third or fourth time I’m writing about this fellow. Voters in Oklahoma, it’s the 21st century, vote accordingly!

Wait where exactly in the bible does it say that it is a sin to be trans? I have never seen it say anything about the subject.
Well, I happen to be a sloppy biblical scholar; the most pertinent passage is Deuteronomy 22:5: “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man; neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy GOD.”
Of course, this is the same book which commands one must not mix woolens with linens or round the corners of thy beard or get a tattoo.
Yeah, but that hardly applies when the person putting it the woman’s garments is actually a woman; just in the wrong body.

closest thing i have heard from those bible thumping pricks is they say it’s somewhere in the old testament, and they quote some thing like this god made you just as you are and your perfect or some shit like that, then they say god is perfect…news flash if we’re made in god’s image and we’re not perfect them neither is god right

Government officials in any capacity should not be quoting the Bible. They must leave their religious feelings outside their offices, period. This government is not a theocracy, if these people want to live in one and follow a holy book for guidance, they need to move to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Indonesia, or Pakistan.
Wait a minute people. Your comments here seem to regard the Bible as some kind of authority that might be somehow above human rights. The fact of the matter is that the Bible is an old book; nothing more, and does not deserve any respect or standing of any kind in the world just like all scriptural texts do not. This countries laws which govern people are based on the Constitution.
The Bible is a work of fiction. It was compiled from a much wider set of scriptures and laws(the Old Testament)and finalized at the Council of Nicaea. There were many Councils convened to determine much of the “facts” of the Bible, including the Divinity of Christ and his mother, Mary. Essentially, the Bible was originally a Book of the Law(Liber Al vel Legis- not to be confused with the Thelemic Book of the Law)meant to unify the judgments of the priest-class law-givers and bring their renditions more into line with the whims of their superiors. Of course, since at this time 90% of the people were illiterate, much of the renditions of the Law were to be accepted on faith by those to whom they were applied.
The New Testament was a reboot of the Old, and the 27 books therein, including the Gospel, were ultimately decided upon by vote at The Council of Trent.
The POINT is……we live in a country that allows individual the right to follow their own concience. Not everyone is Christian/Biblical…..and this country is not a Christian nation. It is a nation of mixed spiritual beliefs. If your Christian….well nice for you, pray in your closet and leave those that don’t live by your rules alone. GET A CLUE AMERICA>>>>WE ARE NOT A THEOCRACY!!!!!!!!!!! SMHHH!!!

The Bible does not define DNA, so there fore it does not exist. How can it be used to define sex by this appeal Judge uses it.
Next, there are more than two mosaics for DNA. Many women find they are male by DNA, Many Men find they are female by their DNA.
there are people who have two DNA’s.
How can identical twins be a boy and a girl?
Not very many Judges would make such a fool of themselves.
