LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — For their yearly “Woman of the Year” celebration where each California state Assembly person selects a woman in their district to honor for their role in fighting for equality. For the 2014 honors, three transgender women were selected.
The women selected are San Francisco’s Cecilia Chung, a health commissioner at the city’s public health department and advisor to the Transgender Law Center, Dayna Sinopoli of Monterey Bay, a speaker on trans issues and Navy veteran and Desiree Jade Sol of West Hollywood who is on the city’s Public Safety Commission.

So there’s no catches here? No religious group waiting to pounce, no Fox News or rabid politicians setting something up? Is it safe to ‘about time too’ and what an awesome thing to do? Wow…dazed but wow.
Congratulations to Cecilia, Dayna and Desiree! Way to go!!!
