LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — Numbers wise, it never looked good for the anti-transgender group pushing a referendum to overturn California’s new transgender student equality law. But they made up for it in rhetoric, fear mongering and outright lies. With kindred spirits like FOX News cheering them on, they gathered far more attention to their cause than they deserved. But in the end, it was all for naught.
California’s secretary of state rejected the coalition of religious conservative groups under the banner of Privacy for All Students’ petition to repeal the equality law after determining it did not have enough valid signatures.
Karen England, a spokesperson for the coalition, tried to spin the defeat into a conspiracy of some sort:
“We are preparing for the next stage of the battle. After months of waiting, we now get to see why so many signatures were thrown out. Certainly some signers were not registered to vote or had moved without changing their address. But it is also certain that many of those signatures were rejected based on reasons that will not survive a legal challenge.”

Survive a legal challenge? Seriously? One wonders how many signatures they’d have if the claims being used to gather the signatures were based on facts.
One member of the collation completely fabricated a story: https://lexiecannes.com/2014/01/01/media-matters-anti-transgender-group-is-lgbt-misinformer-of-the-year/

I really wish someone would get close to the FOX News anchor and punch him in the face. Now that would be good news.
