Bathroom Cop bill surfaces in Utah House

utah rep michael kennedyLEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — Transgender students in Utah will need to have their genitals examined and approved prior to using a non-birth gender restroom if a new bill in the Utah state legislature becomes law.

The sponsor of the legislation, state Rep. Michael Kennedy, who is also a medical doctor, also proposes redefining the word ‘gender’ for the Utah code in a way that does not favor trans people.  For example, ‘one’s own “opinion” of what their gender is’ may not count for much, if anything at all.

While I’m having a hard time figuring out all the details of Rep. Kennedy’s bill since it is, perhaps deliberately, clogged with medical terminology, but there’s no doubt as to what’s going on here — he’s proposing the state plays bathroom cop. A trans student’s identity depend on inspection, conformation, government approval and proper documentation.  The legislation also appears to be a sort of end run around the possible arrival of a California-style trans student equality law.

In short, Kennedy likely finds trans youths yukky and wants to legislate them into a box and kept monitored by the state.

Arizona tried to get a bathroom bill enacted, but failed:

  1. Unbelievable that a physician could be so ignorant and cruel.

    • He is not a physician I think… He is really a meddlesome guy with deep seated issues who happens to be able to obtain an MD. If he were a physician he would be compassionate and would be helping people. IMHO

  2. This guy is an MD? Sounds like he went to Liberty U. How dumb can you get. Also, this is a clear violation of privacy and has to be unconstitutional. This should also expose him as not fit to be in government

  3. I dare them to try that with me.

  4. Nice of them from the mormons who in the past castrated boys to keep their voices higher for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

  5. Can you place a link to see a copy of the Bill, or a link to view the legislation.
I am only being curious, not doubtful of the legitimacy written here.
If it’s written here, I don’t see it. My apologies in advance if I am blind.
