THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Canadian transgender model Jenna Talackova has garnered quite a bit of attention in this space and elsewhere — and quite deserving so. While pioneering a place in the world for trans models, she took on Donald Trump, grumpy contestants and bigoted pot shots from the media. But all the while Jenna gracefully kept it together, including standing up for her trans brothers and sisters whenever she could, serving as a role model for all of us.
Jenna’s story could have ended right there as it often does for beauty pageant contestants. Fifteen minutes of fame gone in an instant. Usual talk of a magazine spread and perhaps a TV show often is just that — talk.
But this time is appears to be a reality. Jenna is being featured in a spread in Elle Canada next month, and the TV show? Looks like that is on, too. It’s titled “Brave New Girl” and is supposedly to premiere on E! Canada, January 19th, 2014.
Once again, our cup floweth over with the positive PR generated by just one transgender model.
