THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Transgender Russian lawyer Masha Bast has been mentioned a number of times in this space as she battles Russian President Vladimir Putin for transgender and LGBT rights in a country where trans rights are few.

For TDOR this year, she stripped off her clothes to bring attention to trans murders and persecution by Russian security services — the FSB.  Putin can’t easily dismiss Bast, because for one thing, she’s chair of the Association of Russian Lawyers for Human Rights.

Bast speaking to Gay Star News: ‘Transgender people mostly keep silent in Russia and those who don’t keep silent are the target of this persecution. We are considered enemies and terrorists because we are transgender.’

To Masha Bast, I say: you go girl! This is one brave trans woman and one heck of a role model for trans activists around the world!
