THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — In the space of one week there has been two murder convictions for killers who targeted trans women.
In New York City, Rasheen Everett was convicted of killing a trans woman named Amanda in 2010 following a four-week trial. Everett could get 40 years at the sentencing hearing scheduled for December. The Associated Press reports that Everett met Amanda online. [Update: Everett sentenced to 29 years.]
In Cleveland, Ohio, Andrey Bridges was found guilty of the stabbing death of Cemia Dove (aka Ce Ce, Cemia Acoff). Cemia was murdered during a date with Bridges. Bridges is to be sentenced next week. He facing 15 years to life.
