THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Another school district’s bathroom police have called it quits. This time it’s the Arcadia (California) Unified School District — in exchange for the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights suspension of their investigation, the school district agrees to allow a trans student use of the restroom and locker room they identifies with.
The unidentified student was denied use of boy’s restroom and lockers for two years and at a school camp, the student was required to stay in a cabin away from his classmates.
The district also agrees to hire a consultant, amend their policies and retrain employees to ensure future trans discrimination does not occur.
This agreement comes on the heels of a ruling in Colorado that found barring a trans child from using the restroom they identify with as discriminatory: https://lexiecannes.wordpress.com/2013/06/24/schools-barring-of-trans-child-from-girls-bathroom-ruled-discriminatory/
