THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Medical and social support services for trans kids under 13 of age are now available at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Services for trans kids similar to this are relatively rare — there are only a few such locations in the entire country.

According to a report in the Chicago Examiner, funding for the clinic came from Lurie and the Tawani Foundation and an official opening is set to occur later this year.

Transgender people are the most marginalized group of people in the United States — and the group with the highest suicide attempt rate — reaching out to trans kids is an effective way to reverse these conditions. 1. this sounds horrible!!

Why must there exist special clinics for wrong assigned kids…

Give em their rights and respect and they don´t need nothing like this (crap) at all.

Guess, that this is meant to stabilize and even devolope exactly the opposite.

    • You’re a moron , right ?
This is something to help support children who are having a hard time coping with the fact they are feeling different.

This support type clinic is no different than other support type clinics.

This clinic being here isn’t disrespecting OR not giving rights, in actuality , that’s quite the opposite. Respecting the feelings of these children and giving them the right to feel like there is nothing wrong with them, that they are not the only ones going through this.

You either are illiterate, or you have gotten confused somewhere in the passage.

  2. This sounds absolutly wonderful. @zarapaz696, This is about rights and respect and helping a child develope both. Its not “crap” I only wish resorces like this had been around when I was a child. Instead I dealt with internalized shame, and frustration by myself which kept me from coming to terms with, and transitioning until I was 37. My greatest regret is that I didn’t have the curage to do this when I was in my teens early 20′.

  3. This is truly fantastic! Thank you Chicago, for this wonderful resource. After reading about the East Aurora School District and the IFI, this gladdens my heart for my fellow Chicagoans. ❤ ❤ ❤

  4. This is great. I have known many, many trans people and heard more heart-breaking stories than I can count, not only of coming to grips with having a disconnect between inner and outer gender as children, but also dealing with parents who are uneducated about the matter and don’t have the tools to understand or support their own children. This has the potential to heal, and prevent, so many scars.

  5. This is wonderful news! I wish such a thing could have existed in the 1980s when I was growing up. 🙂
