THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Medical and social support services for trans kids under 13 of age are now available at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Services for trans kids similar to this are relatively rare — there are only a few such locations in the entire country.
According to a report in the Chicago Examiner, funding for the clinic came from Lurie and the Tawani Foundation and an official opening is set to occur later this year.
Transgender people are the most marginalized group of people in the United States — and the group with the highest suicide attempt rate — reaching out to trans kids is an effective way to reverse these conditions.
