THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Specifically, the SRS (sex reassignment surgery) surgery requirement to be legally defined as the gender they identify as will be deleted. While this is some ways from becoming law, it does show that the Taiwanese government is trying to stay current with all things transgender.
Regulations in 2008 were changed in Taiwan making it easier to legally change gender ID, however, SRS was still required.
The Taiwanese Presidential Office’s Human Rights Consultation Committee says a panel of experts will convene to discuss the possibility. However, there are some doctors who perform SRS surgeries who have reservations about rolling back regulations.
There really isn’t that much other information at this point. Stay tuned.

SRS is STILL required in Louisiana for a gender change.
Elizabeth, consider yourself lucky as there are a few states where it’s impossible for a transsexual person to change the sex on their birth certificate pre or post-op.

The fix for this and many other ills is to restore the immunities and privileges clause of the 14th amendment to the US Constitution. That clause made the federal government the guarantor of personal liberty. The clause was nullified by the US Supreme Court in an 1873 decision; they transferred its force to the due process clause, which made the the states guarantors of personal liberty. Which of course allowed states to enact restrictions like those in TN, OH, and ID, for B.C. changes, as well as a host of other things that we should be able to expect to be uniform across all 50 states.
