THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — New South Wales (Australia) police have begun an internal investigation after four Redfern Local Area Command officers battered and bruised trans woman Indi Edwards in her home earlier this year.
Following a call to an anonymous and confidential counseling hotline, Edwards found the police banging on her door. After asking them to leave, Edwards found herself being battered, cuffed, and thrown half naked into a police van in front of neighbors. She was taken to a hospital and was immediately released following an evaluation that raised no medical concerns.
Local trans advocates are hoping for a thorough police investigation and they are especially disturbed at the lack of confidentiality surrounding Edwards’ call to the counseling hotline.
Stay tuned.
