THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — [UPDATE 1 Feb. 7, 2012. Handel Resigns. New source says: “Karen Handel was the prime instigator of this effort” See below.] Komen is cooked. Done. Finished. Yes, they’re restoring funding, but they’re never to be trusted again.

The Komen Foundation thrived on massive public participation — PEOPLE! It’s hard to believe they did not figure there would be fallout among some. A hot political potato like Planned Parenthood? They took a calculated risk that the fallout would be minimal. “They”, of course, still live in the 20th century and did not include the internet and social media in their calculations. As a result, we’ve witnessed one of the biggest mathematical blunders since the Mars spacecraft that was sent somewhere else.

Hiring failed Republican politician Karen Handel set this ugly turn of events in motion. Who knows exactly what went on behind closed doors, but during the height of the fallout, CEO Nancy Brinker blundered through interviews that would have impressed Sarah Palin — completely surprised and woefully unprepared for a media not buying the baloney she was serving up.

The door is WIDE OPEN for another organization to take the torch away from the Komen organization. We can’t trust them now.

From The Huffington Post: “Karen Handel was the prime instigator of this effort, and she herself personally came up with investigation criteria,” the source, who requested anonymity for professional reasons, told HuffPost. “She said, ‘If we just say it’s about investigations, we can defund Planned Parenthood and no one can blame us for being political.'”
