THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Breast implants to head off the alarming transgender suicide rate? What a compelling argument I’d say. Indeed, the Swedish LGBT advocacy group stated: ” . . . the [Swedish] health board’s own findings statistics showing that the suicide rate among [trans] patients denied breast implants is 30 to 40 percent . . .”

They are not clear about whether hormone therapy is required before breast implants can be done, however recent studies from here in the United States show that trans people is the group with the highest suicide rate.

Now, I’m no doctor or mental health specialist, but if breast implants can make a huge dent in the suicide rate, by all means we ought to make it easier for this to happen.

Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights: “Breast implants for transgender women are in many cases a very important measure for them to function with their new identity and allow them to fit in as women in everyday life.”
