THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT —   Rafiqul Islam bound up his wife, Hawa Akther Jui, saying he was going to “surprise her” then proceeded to cut five of her fingers off.  Her crime: getting an education without his permission.

Human rights groups are asking that the Bangladesh man be severely punished. He has admitted to cutting her finders off and the authorities are considering charges. The BBC is saying there has been a number of recent educated women domestic violence incidents, including a female university lecturer who lost an eye from an alleged attack by her husband.

Meanwhile, Ms. Akther is recovering at her parents house and is done with her husband and still plans to attend college.
