Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker does not represent the 99% of us!

THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — [UPDATED Jan 17, 2012: The Gov. Walker recall effort had one million signatures — nearly double the number needed — when they submitted the recall petition today. [Updated Dec. 15, 2011: Now at 507,000 signatures they they are almost near the minimum needed to put the recall before the voters with an entire month to go. In only 12 days, over 300,000 signatures to recall Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker from office  was collected — more than half needed. The recall coalition — United Wisconsin — in the remaining 48 days need to collect only 241,000 signatures.  They will likely exceed the amount needed as a safety buffer in the event of invalid signatures.  Signatures have come in from all 72 counties in the state.

The governor has begun airing ads to counter the recall effort.  Americans for Prosperity — a conservative organization, has also aired ads in Walker’s favor. Two Republican state Senators lost their recall election earlier this year and 4 more are being targeted this time.

Public anger at Governor Walker curtailment of collective bargaining rights for public workers earlier this year prompted the recall drives. Gov. Walker only recently became eligible for recall.

  1. Great to see! But not a huge suprise given the outcomes of the 2011 elections. Here’s to keeping fingers crossed for a successful recall!!

  2. My friends, I usually support the actions of this group of citizens but I can not support the recall of Wisc Gov Scott Walker, unless you can show me that he has committed a clear felony violation of law or his sworn oath of office, I would support and effort to make sure he is not elected again but can not support a recall effort for his actions. Just because we the people don’t like a elected officals actions doesn’t mean there is grounds for a recall, at least that is my feelings on this topic

  3. I believe things are a little different in the case of Gov. Walker . . . he came in and made NEW law which impacted the well being of many citizens of Wisconsin. One could argue that he was biased against people with union benefits. Had he spread the cuts equally among ALL the people of Wisconsin, we wouldn’t be discussing this today. As a result the check and balance system was triggered by his misuse of authority (his bully pulpit)

If Walker believes what he did is right and fair, he has nothing to worry about, the people of the state of Wisconsin will stand behind him.

As for felonies, I believe there is legislative options for removal of someone convicted of a felony.
