THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — After trans woman Erica Kay won an appeal on her grand theft conviction, she claims a warrant was left active long after the conviction was overturned. In addition, she states that city and state agencies continued to list her gender improperly even after she corrected them a number of times — this lead to her humiliation in jail and in court.
She’s suing two police departments — Panama City, and Parker, both in Florida, and the Florida state attorney’s office for discrimination. Kay claims everything started after a disgrunted former employee “outed” her by circulating old tabloid articles written about her.
Further details from the news media are skimpy so I’ll update if further info becomes available. She is, however, taking quite a beating in the feedback section of one of the TV news station in Panama City.
In unrelated news, there is a report of a film about her in the works.

Isn’t it fun to beat up and harass a transfemale ?? we are always fair game to the haters in this world ! when are we as a country going to grow up and act like adults, I have travelled all over the world and it would be interesting to see the faces of these haters if they could see the common acceptance of trans people from the UK, to Japan, to Austriala Grow up America
as a Transfemale in the Uk i find that the “abuse” we get over here is pretty much the same as anywhere else in the world, i don’t think that it’s fair to say that Trans people from any other country have it any easier.
Thanks for your comments Christy Ann!
I would like to thank Lexie for posting this portion of Erica Kay’s story. As her agent I have only been walking with her on this journey for a short time, but am amazed at the prejudice that she faces on a daily basis. In order to help make available all the information about her case possible I have published several articles as a citizen journalist on the Yahoo Contributor Network, mainly Associated Content. Below are the links to the articles including the transcript of Erica Kay’s statement to the press in her recent press conference.

Again thank you for the support of Erica and all transgenders out there. Maybe speaking out will effect true change for future generations.
