THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — They’re not doing this because they’ve a change of heart, but rather, voters forced their hand. No Republican holds a state-wide office, and the Governor’s office has been in the hands of the Democrats since the mid ’80s.
With the old guard out of state office and others simply unelectable, the GOP is trying to soften its image to attract younger business owners who are turned off by current party prejudices.
This isn’t a watershed moment, but an interesting contrast to what is going on in the rest of the country — Tea Party supporters swaying the GOP further towards the right. Oregon has shown that when Democrats turn out to vote, the Tea Party and other extremists are rightfully marginalized.

It’s ironic that in an article celebrating greater acceptance of LGBT people, you state that the tea party is “rightfully marginalized”.in Oregon. I guess tolerance of other ways of life is strictly a one-way street for you.
The Tea Party, of course, have a desire to butt in the lives of other people. Its not a matter of a street direction issue, they are driving on the sidewalk. The Tea Party gives up their right to tolerance doing so. You are free to have your own opinion on the matter. Thanks for commenting.
