THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — For many of us filmmakers, it was the original iMac, iMovie and firewire that drew us into the filmmaking business. For the first time, affordable digital editing became available. A $1,200 iMac was all you needed. What had to be used prior to this was a $75,000 and up AVID editing suite. Shortly after the original iMac, Jobs came out with the the under $2k G4 tower and $999 Final Cut Pro, and Hollywood got into the desktop editing business. AVID’s dominance was finished and a whole new landscape emerged — filmmaking for the masses.
For this filmmaker, I owe most everything to Steve Jobs, because my films are made in the editing suite!
